My Experience with Orange Mobile in Tenerife.
Planning a trip to Tenerife and wondering about your mobile phone? As an Orange subscriber, I can confirm that my Polish mobile plan worked seamlessly on the island. Calls back to Poland were crystal clear, just as if I was still at home.
Beyond standard calls, my mobile internet package was equally reliable.
Given my work as a web developer, consistent internet access is a must. I had no issues at all – even uploading files to servers was a smooth process.
Naturally, there were a few spots with no signal, but these were typically uninhabited areas or very remote beaches.
In all the towns and populated areas, coverage was excellent, and everything worked perfectly.
What about the costs?
Good news! Thanks to EU roaming regulations, all calls made from Tenerife to Polish numbers (whether in Tenerife or back in Poland) were charged at my standard Polish domestic rates.
Similarly, receiving calls from friends and clients in Poland incurred no extra charges – it was all covered by my regular subscription.
When might you pay more?
If you use your Polish operator to call a local Spanish number on Tenerife, expect these calls to be more expensive, as they fall outside the standard EU roaming policy for calls to your home country.
