Your Phone Camera & QR Codes for Bus Timetables
Ever found yourself at a bus stop, completely unsure when your ride will arrive and with no one to ask?
- So, what's the trick to checking bus timetables at a 'request stop' in Tenerife?
- As a keen traveller, I've always loved exploring the world, seeking out new experiences and adventures. So, finding myself at a bus stop along the highway to Santa Cruz, awaiting my next ride, I felt a familiar mix of excitement and curiosity. However, the lack of an immediate timetable began to breed a touch of anxiety – I had no idea when my bus would actually arrive.
- It was then that a friendly Spanish woman approached me. Sensing her approachable demeanour, I decided to ask if she knew the bus schedule. To my pleasant surprise, she didn't just give me a vague answer. Instead, she pulled out her phone and showed me exactly how to find the information myself!
- I watched as she opened her camera app and aimed it at a small QR code affixed to the bus stop sign. Almost instantly, her phone connected to the Titsa website, displaying real-time bus arrival information. Within seconds, she had the answer I was searching for: my bus would be there in just 18 minutes.
- Her kindness was truly impressive, and I thanked her profusely for her help. We boarded the bus to Santa Cruz together. After a while, I overheard two fellow tourists chatting about their travels, sharing tips and recommendations – a common, delightful occurrence on public transport.
- As we disembarked, I couldn't stop thinking about the Spanish woman's simple act of kindness. She took the time to assist a stranger in need, and I was incredibly grateful. It was a potent reminder that even in a world that can sometimes feel cold or indifferent, there are always people willing to offer a helping hand when it's most needed.
- As I walked away, I found myself pondering what other unexpected delights and acts of generosity my future travels might hold.
